For the ordering quiz #4 and #5, are mi da and prendo interchangeable?
Hi Dave, I’m not sure which sentences you are referring to because they appear each time in a random order within the same exercise. “Mi da” and “Prendo” are not interchangeable, though, because “Mi da” is always a question – “Mi da un cappuccino, per favore?” – while “prendo” is a statement – “Prendo un cappuccino, grazie!”. So in this exercise you can’t use one instead of the other. In real life, you can choose of course whichever expression feels right for you in that moment. 🙂
