Come si usa questa espressione in una frase? Lui ha una scuro in volto? Lui è una persone da scuro in volto?
È un’espressione comune?

sì, è un’espressione abbastanza comune anche se si trova più nei romanzi o nelle serie TV che non nella vita di tutti i giorni. Si usa con il verbo essere, quindi diciamo “Lui è scuro in volto” oppure “Lei era scura in volto” o ancora “Loro erano scuri in volto”. 🙂
